In a blog post, the company announced that starting February this year, Showmax will sport a fresh look, introduce a new app, and unveil an entirely new product suite.
This development marks the culmination of the partnership forged between MultiChoice and Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Sky in the previous year. The revamped Showmax will showcase 21 original titles, featuring five Nigerian productions, set to start streaming on the updated app next month. Additionally, users can anticipate an overhauled international content lineup and the introduction of a mobile streaming plan tailored for Premier League enthusiasts.
Once considered the underdog in the streaming landscape against giants like Netflix and Amazon-backed Prime Video, Showmax has successfully carved its niche, winning over audiences with this exciting transformation in the competitive streaming arena.
