Chioma Ude, AFRIFF’s visionary founder, shared during a media address in Lagos that the upcoming AFRIFF festival, themed “Indigenous to Global 2.0,” is primed to spotlight and promote indigenous content on the global stage.
She revealed that the platform has already curated an impressive collection of 1,000 high-quality films set to enthrall audiences throughout the festival. If you don’t know AFRIFF is the Africa International Film Festival and the major aim in this festival is to promotes Africa media content to the world.
Chioma Ude emphasized on the significance of this edition, she expressed the importance of a comprehensive learning experience for creatives, encompassing filmmaking, makeup artistry, design, and beyond. Understanding international policies and laws, she stressed, is vital for successfully showcasing indigenous content on a global scale.
Reflecting on the previous edition, Will Stevens, the Consul General at the United States Consulate in Lagos, commended the festival’s previous year and eagerly anticipated the upcoming one.
He applauded AFRIFF’s role in projecting Nigeria onto the global stage and emphasized the profound impact of visual representation in a nation’s growth, drawing a parallel to America’s history.
