It seems this year’s Independence Day celebration in Ogun state will be quite different from the usual fun-filled festivities.
The state government has announced that there will be no celebration on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, in accordance with the directive from the Federal Government. Things will be low key this year to reflect the mood of the nation.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi explained in a press statement that the decision to have a low key celebration is in line with the Federal Government’s directive.
While this may be disappointing for many of those who look forward to the vibrant celebration, the government is urging citizens to spend the day solemnly praying for Nigeria.
