Gen-Z Can’t Stand Your Brand and here’s why. I’m about to share with you some ways to reconnect with the Gen-Zers (if there’s actually anything like that).
1. Authenticity – Be Real, Be You
Gen Z can smell BS from a mile away!
If your brand comes across as insincere or tries too hard to be something it’s not, you’ll quickly lose our trust. Do not be like Starbucks with their controversial and hypocritical #racetogether ad. Cut the act and keep it real!
2. Progressive Values – Get with the Times
Gen Z is all about making the world a better place.
If your brand isn’t on board or worse, actively opposing these values, well, good luck getting our attention.
Nike has always been fighting climate change and advocating sustainability for an environment-friendly life, and you really are wondering why we love them so much?
3. Digital Savvy – Be Online
We are the digital generation, living and breathing online. If your brand isn’t active on social media, you might as well send those messages via pigeon.
Wendy’s have mastered the art of being sassy and interactive on Twitter. They engage with customers and even throw shade.
4. Trendiness – Join the trend train
We live for the next big thing, the latest meme, and the coolest trends. If your brand is still talking about last year’s trends, you are in trouble.
Jumping on trends is Shein‘s secret sauce. Be the brand that is in the know. Keep up with the trend.
5. Personalization – Make It Personal
Gen Z wants it their way – and why shouldn’t we?
‘One-size-fits-us’ branding is not going to work for us. You have to show us you get us, or we’re swiping left.
Netflix is a prime example here. They monitor our viewing habits and recommend things we’d like. It’s like they know us better than we know ourselves.
