It seems Taco Bell is not ready to learn from previous mistakes.
In 2011, a customer sued them for fillings that’s mostly chemicals, starch and powder and only 36% beef. Taco Bell spent nearly $4 million on advertising in order to counter the accusations. They claimed their filling is 88% beef with the other 12% being their signature recipe spices. The lawsuit was later withdrawn.
Now, in 2023… another customer has filed a lawsuit against the company for beef issues yet again.
Frank Siragusa just couldn’t take the injustice of too little filling in his fast-food snacks anymore. Come on, don’t we all know how heartbreaking it is to be scammed like that?
Frank’s not just mad at the lack of filling in his crunchwrap; he’s got a bone to pick with Taco Bell’s photography skills too. Apparently, the perfectly arranged tomatoes and lettuce, and the mountainous heaps of ground meat without a crumb falling out of place – according to Frank, is all a big fat lie!
Should Taco Bell rethink their food photoshoots?
I don’t think there is any issue with Taco Bell’s advertising as ads should be and stay captivating. To captivate customers and attract them to a food business especially, advertisement should be tantalizing. However, they should stay legal by doing their best to make their products as nice as they look in the ads.
Let’s root for Frank, our taco-loving hero, as he seeks justice for all those who’ve been disappointed by deceptive food photography. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll see a future where Crunchwraps are packed to the brim with all the deliciousness we always see in ads.
