Lights, camera, investments… cause Sony is dishing out a cool sum of $10 million all in the name of entertainment.
They want to play the Santa Claus of investment for start-up entertainment companies in countries like South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria. They’re not just doing this once and dipping. They’re starting with these four countries, but they’ve got plans to conquer more. Apparently, success is a marathon, not a sprint.
“The entertainment field has been a key area of focus for Sony Innovation Fund since the beginning and will continue to be.” Gen Tsuchikawa, the CEO of Sony Ventures explained.
This $10 million extravaganza is going to fund music, movies, gaming, and content distribution start-ups. They’re basically throwing cash at anything that screams “entertainment.”
Amazing, or what do you think?
There’s just one tiny detail left to figure out: Who’d be getting the money? Well, they’re being official about it but we believe they will spill the beans soon!
In the meantime, if you’re in Africa and have dreams of being the next big thing in the entertainment industry, keep your eyes on Sony. Your jackpot might just be a click away!
