The tension among our dear SS3 students has finally come to an end as NECO results for the June/July 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) have been released.
Drumroll, please…
61.60% of the students who sat for the exams managed to hit the jackpot by scoring five credits and above, including English and Mathematics. Now, that’s what we call crossing the academic finish line with style.
Wait, there’s more! 1,543 candidates with special needs also participated in this academic feat. Kudos to them for demonstrating that education really knows no bounds!
However, on the not-so-shiny side of things, it seems some schools decided to embrace the act of mass cheating, with a whopping 93 schools getting caught red-handed. 52 supervisors also found themselves on the wrong side of the academic law for their involvement in poor supervision, aiding, and abetting during the exams.
Dear students, if your NECO results didn’t quite match your expectations, do not be disheartened. Remember that life is full of twists and turns. In the grand scheme of things, these results could be your stepping stones to exciting opportunities in the world of career and college planning. Keep the fire burning.
