Life’s immeasurable mysteries are inexplicable. It requires professional expertise and excellence to get through. Each new day presents its own problems and, to be fair, its opportunities. It is expected that one approaches each day with the same ferocity, if not more, than they did a day before. Having a go at life coupled with job requirements that enable one fend for themselves is a skill that most people feel like they lack when questioned.
Here is the gist;
It is no new gist that the value of jobs isn’t the same as it was, say, 50 years ago. Money doesn’t have as much value as it used to, especially in a country like ours where inflation is at an all-time high. Prices have risen dramatically in the last decade, even though inflation and an increase in the minimum wage are not directly proportional. Simply put, prices are going up and the average man’s salary has more or less stagnated. Combining your Lifestyle with jobs might not leave the average income earner any room for rest, leisure, or entertainment.
Maximizing your time
The majority of workers in the country typically work Mondays through Fridays. This is assuming that there aren’t any overlaying assignments, unfinished tasks, or overriding meetings that might overlap into the weekend. All of this is done week after week to just keep one’s head above water. The social life of corporate workers as we know is rather slowly fading away, or better put is changing form.
Using Outdoors are a relieve
It should be said that “yes,” work spaces might host hangouts or retreats for workers, but spaces like that can be said to be restricted, to have a cap on the way to act or carry yourself, even when given the tag “Team bonding.” There is no better experience than leisure or entertainment time planned by you, for yourself and your loved ones. After all, there is a popular saying that says, “Ours and mine aren’t the same thing.” We’ll give you a moment to let that sink in.
So, in a system where people do their day jobs and still have side jobs to try and stay afloat
how to combine work and play? Well, below, we’ve got some pointers lined up for you:
- Plan
This might sound stale and quite frankly cliché, but it is very important that you plan. Know your schedule, know your free time, know activities that would keep you excited and those that can work with the amount of free time that you know can be generated, and then plan for it. It could be days before, weeks before, months before, or even, in some cases, years before the expected date. It is highly recommended that you plan.
It is highly recommended that you also plan according to your budget. You remember that you are an average income earner (not to add salt to injury), but you wouldn’t want to be stranded when having a good time. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Now you have made your plan, and not to be cliché again, but we recommend that you almost always stick to it. Do not procrastinate, try as much as possible not to make last-minute changes that could derail your total plan. Sticking to the plan requires a level of discipline and determination for things to be done seamlessly and also to go according to plan.
- Steady Your Expectations
We do not mean to be a party pooper of any sort, but, yeah, we have to make sure you are forearmed, get it?
In the means of planning, you understand that you do not always get that free time for leisure or personal outings. It is normal that when you see an opening of free time that you intend to take advantage of, you may tend to over-plan, over-prepare, or worst of all, over-expect. It is important that in the times of fun that you have planned for, you let things take their course.
- Do not force things
Just naturally enjoy all of the things that you intended to do, without creating mental pictures of euphoric perfection that leave no space for nature or events to take their natural course, and as a result, makes you feel like your activities didn’t meet up with expectations. Then you are there telling yourself you’ve wasted time, and resources on an activity that wasn’t the perfect fit. So ensure to steady your expectations.
Takeaway
As a Nigerian with an average income, you are well aware of the burn-out factor that is associated with their working options in order to keep their heads above water. How resources might limit the type of outdoor leisure time that one may be to partake in.
Just like everything in life, there are loopholes, and this article seeks to explore those loopholes to enable the average earner to have a good time filled with entertainment amidst the face of limited resources and time constraints.
