China’s tech giant, Baidu just dropped the mic with their upgraded AI chatbot, ERNIE, and they’re confidently saying, ‘Move over, ChatGPT’
This is the AI faceoff we didn’t even know we needed!
They’re boldly claiming it’s got what it takes to give OpenAI’s ChatGPT a run for its money. Apparently, ERNIE is like that genius friend who can answer all your tricky questions in a way that makes you feel like you’re chatting with a real person, all thanks to tons of data and user interactions.
At the Baidu World 2023 conference in Beijing, Baidu’s CEO, Robin Li Yanhong, claimed that Ernie Bot’s improved abilities in understanding, prompting, reasoning, and memorizing, makes it far more superior to ChatGPT.
ERNIE made its grand entrance in August, and it was kind of a big deal in China’s tech scene. They’re gunning to compete with big players like Microsoft and OpenAI.
According to Robin Li, the CEO of Baidu, ‘ERNIE’s the real deal; it’s got comprehension, creativity, logic, and memory that can go head-to-head with GPT-4 from OpenAI.’
But before you get too excited, ERNIE’s not ready to mingle with the masses just yet. It’s still hanging out in the exclusive club, sipping virtual tea with a handful of developers.
With ChatGPT making AI a global sensation, Chinese tech wizards are going all-in on the AI craze too.
But there’s a twist. China’s internet is like Fort Knox, and even AI has to play by the rules. The government laid down the law, saying AI must follow ‘core socialist values’ and keep mum on touchy topics like those 1989 pro-democracy protests. No AI revolutions is allowed there!
