The Kaduna government has enthusiastically embraced Arla Foods Nigeria’s ongoing investment in the state, recognizing its potential to foster sustainable development and enhance milk and dairy production in Nigeria. This commendation came during a visit by government officials to Arla Farm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Damau, Kaduna State.
Peder Pedersen, the Managing Director of Arla Foods Nigeria, expressed gratitude for the Kaduna State delegation’s visit, considering it validation of their support and commitment to the project’s success. He emphasized the company’s dedication to pioneering sustainable dairy farming and contributing to the growth of the local dairy industry. Pedersen’s optimism was evident as he highlighted the potential for Nigeria to achieve self-sufficiency in milk production through the right investments and partnerships.
During the facility tour at the farm, Snorri Sigurdsson, Senior Manager for Raw Milk Supply and Production, emphasized Arla Foods’ commitment to establishing Kaduna State as the premier destination for dairy milk production in Nigeria.
Murtala Dabo, the Commissioner for Agriculture in Kaduna State, lauded the progress made at Arla Farm, describing the facility as a prime example of livestock production at its best. Dabo recognized the potential for increased milk production through improved farming practices, technology transfer to local farmers, and the launch of the Damau Household Milk Farm project. He predicted that Kaduna State would soon become a major hub for milk production in Nigeria.
